We started The Nakama Project because we felt something was missing. As lifelong fans, we wanted anime-inspired apparel that was as clean, stylish, and well-made as our favorite everyday clothing. We wanted apparel that was a subtle nod to our passion, not a loud advertisement. 

 

Our brand is built on the Japanese concept of "nakama"—a bond between comrades united by a shared journey. We believe apparel can be a symbol of that connection.


Since the early days, we’ve had a focus on building one of the most unique and fulfilling workplaces by rethinking a lot of traditional practices.

"Nakama" (仲間) is a Japanese word for a comrade, crewmate, or member of a found family—a bond deeper than friendship. It's a core theme in many of the stories we love. "The Nakama Project" is our mission to build a community of fans connected by a shared passion, creating high-quality apparel that celebrates these stories together.
